My thread on haiku got longer and longer, so decided to post to a Substack instead. Sign up for one reflection a month in 2023.

Hmm… that intro was much longer than I expected, and suddenly this is a Project! So I will leave it here for now with some links and resources, and will kick off with Thread #1 in the next week or so. Follow/mute and please feel free to add your thoughts below. Happy new year—here’s to a creative 2023.

I haven’t written or thought about haiku for a long time, but came back to it recently for my high school poetry club. Haiku works well as a training ground for beginner poets, because it is a form, a short form, one that requires concision and a preference for imagery and the five senses, one with a rich history and experimentation across multiple languages, and one that is seemingly easy to master. 🧵 @freehaiku
