The mesmerizing scenes tonight at the Halemaʻumaʻu summit crater inside the Kīlauea caldera in Hawaii.

Lava fountain heights have decreased since the eruption onset, but remain up to about 10 meters high.

An average effusion rate of approximately 150 cubic meters per second is estimated for initial 24 hours.

Current alert level is Orange.
