Um die gewaltigen Dimensionen einordnen zu können: die Yosemite Falls (links), haben eine Fallhöhe von insgesamt 740 Metern.

Half Dome detail from Lower Mirror Lake 24 January 2023. RX100 f/8 1/200 ISO100. Mirror Lake is so close to Half Dome that the upward photographic perspective makes Half Dome look like a shorty dome instead of 4,737 ft above the Valley floor. But this proximity allowed for some close up vignettes. This is the eastern base - a patch of trees and snow against the rocky base.

Half Dome at night 27 January 2023. A7R f/2.8 10 ISO3200 28mm. Partial moon highlighted the snow covered dome and meadow yet allowed enough exposure time to capture the stars.

Half Dome, Yosemite National Park. Believe it or not there are tiny (blurry) climbers making there way in a line (on what appears to be a whitish line) up the highest peak. Some people admire that kind of thing.

For me, that’s a big NOPE. I was content just to see it.

While there are many beautiful places within the palace complex you would be hard pressed to nominate anything more amazingly beautiful than the stunning domed ceiling of the Salón de Embajadores, built by Diego Ruiz in 1427.
