Just finished this really excellent book, attempting to chart the lives of the women who should be at the heart of the story of the Whitechapel murders in Victorian London.

Understandably, some of the available information is sparse but in telling their stories, Rubenhold ends up telling the broader tales of women in the late 19th century and the oppressive cultures they were subject to.
