Good evening, friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse.

Today has been a beautiful sunny day, not too hot, and I decided to take a break and relax, anticipating another busy week ahead.

While performing a #duperemove on a #btrfs file system (and it seems that soon this will be possible on #zfs too!), I'm reading about the progress #hammer2 is making on #OpenBSD (https://github.com/kusumi/openbsd_hammer2). This would be a winning combination, as the versatility of the excellent file system of #DragonflyBSD and the security of #OpenBSD would be an incredibly powerful union. Let's hope the development continues smoothly without any major issues!

#DragonFlyBSD #HAMMER2 file system has just been ported to #OpenBSD (read-only support) thanks to Tomohiro Kusumi (tkusumi) who also made the ports to #FreeBSD and #NetBSD

It currently compiles and has been tested with #OpenBSD_7_2

#HAMMER2 file system made its way into #FreeBSD as a port.

Now #HAMMER2 file system is on its way to #NetBSD thanks to Tomohiro Kusumi (tkusumi)

I'm not super fond of git at the moment, but I got the separate branch set up, so now I just need to draft up the email notification.

It's nowhere near done, but it should be good enough to be useful for anyone on #DragonFlyBSD with #HAMMER2 filesystems.

The only problem with this Precision is that for some reason I couldn't get two drives installed. Might look into popping it open and having a peek for myself to see if I can get another M.2 NVMe installed so I can have both #HardenedBSD and #DragonFlyBSD (as well as a host of other systems that support #ZFS installs) on the same machine without having to split the 512GB NVMe SSD between #HAMMER, #HAMMER2, and #ZFS
