It's a new sweater day! This is the Meitian sweater designed by Maysa Tomikawa. I already made it once in a colour block design but my handspun yarns were so uneven it hung all funny so I ripped it out and reknit it in these beautiful blended stripes. I'm in love. #WIPWednesday Now that my partner's cabled sweater is finished I can spend some time with this project for myself that's been languishing in a closet. It's Sous Sous by Norah Gaughan, in a handspun blend of merino and Bluefaced Leicester dyed with goldenrod from behind my neighbour's garage, walnuts gathered by the river, corn husk, onion skin, and pomegranate rind from our kitchen, and coreopsis from our garden. #KnittersOfMastodon #HandknitSweater #HandspunYarn #NaturalDye #SlowFashion

This newly finished sweater currently on the blocking towel is the second of this design that I've made. It's a painstakingly reverse engineered exact copy of my partner's favourite store bought sweater. I'm pleased and relieved to have it finished well before we run out of cold weather.
