They really brought that up to date. Not just "wow, Gilead is JUST like what's happening in parts of America" but then the rest of it as well.

@cfrangou this is what they think of women’s mental and physical life now in many GOP led states. So dystopian and terrifying. Depending on who wins the election in 2024 may be a further brutal assault on women and their bodies. Re-watching #HandmaidsTale from the start. Got to season 3 before it dropped off Channel 4. Could pick up from Season 4. Or we could remind ourselves what happened and enjoy the storytelling all over again!

(Although "enjoy" feels a little odd for such brutally powerful narrative themes!)
