This more "spotty" technique works well for this region: as the tattoo heals the dots will "bleed" together somewhat, forming more cohesive lines but allowing some space for touching up rather than overboldening the tattoo in such a tender and delicate area.

I've been limited severely by life in terms of tattooing practice recently but have enjoyed building out larger pieces modularly as I can steal an hour here and there. The result is teaching me patience, as often a tattoo doesn't look like I want it to for a long time while I wait for it to heal and then sit with it again and repeat that process. However, aesthetics aside, it brings me into awareness with my body, my own impatience, and my reasons for tattooing in the first place.

Centipedes are liminal creatures and (among other things) represent a connection to the divine. Ubiquitous and existing on nearly every continent, centipede motifs appear in tattooing traditions nearly worldwide.
