A wee reminder that we will be holding a #WellCave open day this Sunday in honour of #HandselMonday.

Well cave isn't usually open to the public, this is a great opportunity to explore a cave that played an important role in local traditions. We're not planning a torchlit procession from the village on Sunday, but bringing a torch is a good idea if you want to try and spot some if the more obscure #Cave #grafitti.

Are you from #Fife and have you ever heard of #HandselMonday?

This tradition was kept alive in the #wemysscaves up to the beginning of the 20th century, and we, as SWACS, have been working hard to retain as much information on this event as we could.

To honour Handsel Monday, we are having a Handsel Sunday this week and will be opening #WellCave for visitors.
