A fantastic, as always, episode of the podcast «The Curious Cases of Rutherford & Fry».
They talk about aphantasia. I myself just discovered a few months ago people visualizing things in their mind was not a Hollywood trope, that 97% of the population can do it and that me and two of my siblings (one not) are the weird ones.

"Daten und Statistiken können alle möglichen atemberaubend beeindruckenden und verblüffenden Dinge verraten, aber nicht, wie es sich anfühlt, ein Mensch zu sein." (, , S. 229)

"Voice assistants are an example of ...where it's the technology that leads the way. And it's only later that society asks the question of whether it's something we really want in our lives." This morning I'm enjoying the episode of 's fab new series on , The of Modern Life. The access she's got into the top & people at is incredible. But this summary line at the end just nails it.

Watching the brilliant and it reminds me that we could have had electric vehicles for a century.

If it wasn't for capitalism.

We would have had the same innovations, I believe, and driven the same vehicles, but electric.

And the electric production would - I think - have been revolutionised.

Imagine if every house build since 1960 had had solar cells incorporated. If the entire coastline was using tide and wave power.

If you drive an EV car…. Or if you're thinking about getting one… Or if you just like seeing some physics in action…. you'll enjoy Hannah Fry's look at EV cars. Hannah certainly enjoyed herself. I love my bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001

It was odd watching using an iFixit toolkit in without the words "This video is sponsored by iFixit" anywhere in the show.

Watching Professor Hannah Fry visit Amazon to explain how Alexa works in this unfortunately timed episode of "The Secret Genius of Modern Life"

This past week the devices and Alexa team was hardest hit in the current round of layoffs at Amazon
