Off to @defcon to find my Peppercon peeps!

First time joining the #HardHatBrigade! Was so easy since the #DCDarknet badge this year makes for a small hardware-y thing to easily strap on a hard hat. Also mesh badges are cool! Managed to squeeze off a shard print of my own design at the last minute for the official #defcon31 badge too!

And if you love using community mesh networks to get around terrible ISP monopolies, check out @mesh and look into making one for your own community!

I’m getting antsy about working on the new version of my #hardhatbrigade hat for #defcon.

I can’t wait until I whittle down my project list a bit more.

Funny the things you stumble upon… many moons ago, I used to do a lot of commuting in the dark… so I cobbled together this hard hat headlamp.

Key feature was an LDR on the top which could switch the lighting off when the ambient lighting was sufficient. Electronics is nothing more exotic than single-colour LEDs, some switches the LDR and pot, and a 74HC14.

I keep wondering if I should make a new version of it. Turns out, #hardhatbrigade is actually a thing.

It's still magical to me when you design something on a computer and wait a few weeks and it comes to your door. It's even better when things fit the way you envisioned they would. #PCB #KiCad #StepperMotor #HardHatBrigade #Maker
