There is not new features but tech debts gone!
The libudev library was replaced for the more modern successor libsystemd.
libudev was not recommended any more for new projects but sd-device instead. Not sure about mature/stable the monitor part is, maybe it's just a leak of docs. Just tech random thoughts.
