I started learning harmonics on the harp today, I think they'll take a lot of practice to get the technique right, but they're fun though.

Also thanks to the higher string tension and the lowest octave of the harp now being strung metal, my fingers on my left hand are sore. I need to grow stronger calluses 😬 #harp #harpist

Had a great harp lesson this morning. Am working on my first piece (O'Carolan's Air) involving lever changes mid song, it's a bit challenging remembering to change it, then change it back.

This food court just played My Heart Will Go On and are now playing You're Still The One I Want, and aside from the justified shout out to Canadian white female artists I am completely transported to the late 1990's, when I arranged both tunes for harp, violin, and viola and played them incessantly by request at a steady stream of weddings in the summers of 98, 99, and 2000. An odd kind of nostalgia, indeed.

Dunno who needed to hear that but I needed to say it.

I hate having to drive an SUV, but that's a drawback to being a #harpist in a one-car family. It sure did come in handy tonight, though, when a couple of our #FNB homeless friends needed their bikes transported across town. 🥰

The ideal thing, of course, would be to have a really great #transportation system in this town. (Sigh. I can dream.)
