Asian pear harvest from my tiny tree*! Fun story, this is the third fruit tree I've planted here and the first to thrive (or survive actually). The first two (cherry trees) were sabotaged by my poor understanding of soil quality and drainage.
*(Please disregard the weird bands, I failed to brace the young branches properly from the weight of the pears 😬 and I'm trying to retrain them)

There are lots of delights in the garden this year and I am very thankful for that 🙏
Some of my favourites are the golden #beets - they are very expensive in stores and hard to find, definitely don't grow as quickly as well as their red sisters. I like their very mild taste and beautiful color.
I have sown probably 20 plants, only few made it to this size. The fewer there are, the sweeter they taste 😅

Michael cleared out the pond and they got in there with the net. We were expecting to #harvest significantly more #fish than we did (the pond is very well stocked) but they are wiley critters.
This was our first fish harvest, and as with all things, there's a serious #LearningCurve. But, the pond got some important maintenance and we get to enjoy a nice meal of red pargo.

Cleaned one of our apple trees of fruit. It isn't the most abundant year, but plenty of apple goodness.
The next tree has a lot more in it. We'll probably get 5-7 or so five-gallon buckets.
