I've proposed updating the templates for ebuilds and metadata.xml files.

The patch set includes:
- using pypi.eclass by default
- using as the default build system (more in line with the defaults and PyPA recommendations)
- readding python@ as the default maintainer (with a note that tests must be good)
- adding <stabilize-allarches/> by default

The rough idea is that it's easier to remove extraneous stuff than type it back in.

Zaproponowałem kilka zmian do szablonów dla ebuildów i metadata.xml paczek w .

Zmiany to:
- użycie pypi.eclass
- użycie jako domyślnego systemu budowania (zgodnie z rekomendacjami PyPA i innymi domyślnymi wartościami)
- dodawanie python@ jako domyślnego opiekuna pakietu (z notatką, że testy muszą działać)
- dodawanie <stabilize-allarches/>

Ogólna myśl jest taka, że łatwiej jest usunąć to, co nie pasuje, niż dopisywać za każdym razem.

Did you know that verifies the trove classifiers you're using? So even if you don't use any new feature, you need to put a lower bound on supported hatchling version, or some users may see build failures due to unrecognized trove classifiers.

With 2022 on its way out and looking forward to 2023... this next year, I'll be moving away from in favour for where applicable (primarily libraries). I'll also look into replacing with the highly customizable to minimize the noise and churn around dependency updates.

I'm also hoping for some good news on a natively -supported lockfile (for eventually replacing Poetry with Hatchling for apps).

What are your hopes and wishes for in 2023?
