14 followers · 985 posts · Server worldkey.ioI still haven't seen the #HauntedMansion movie and likely won't until it drops on #Disney+ in early October, but I'm curious, do ya'll prefer the #HatboxGhost as a good guy, bad guy, or neutral guy?
It seems like between the movie and the #WDW refurb (where Hattie is not a "Happy" Haunt) that Disney is suddenly leaning into the bad guy interpretation, but I prefer a more neutral/good take on the character personally. Ditto with all the ghosts not named Constance.

This better not be the norm in the future, but there’s nothing to stop Disney from doing so it seems.

Testing to see if I got things right with scale and visual layout for this diorama. My main concern is that the textures of the wall and ground will be too busy visually. Once everything is painted up it shouuuuuuld be fine.

Started putting this together and simply could not stop. Going to leave the castle model in the box for now 😝
They did a good job coloring the different sprues, but I think some paint and basing elements will go a long way. That's a project for another day though, since I've got a few projects that I'd like to be done before Halloween and Christmas. Exciting prospect though!

As a creative person, I feel conflicted about Disney World.
I think amusements and immersive place making are art, and WDW is the pinnacle of those forms. On the other hand, I think capitalism is the root of almost every problem our world faces and Disney has become a symbol of it. Undoubtedly they are constantly optimizing ways to separate people from their money.
Anyway, on our last trip they had this model of the haunted mansion, a product designed specifically to capture *my* money. The color choice of the parts is questionable, but that's a problem I'm certainly able to fix.
