Komplizierter Termin beim #Diabetologen. Der #HbA1c ist gestiegen, bereitet dem Arzt bislang wenig Kopfzerbrechen.

Dafür wurde die #Medikation zum Thema #Cholesterin geändert. Noch ne neue Tablette dazu #würg. Ich kann bald nen Laden aufmachen.

@sara @bogosian thank you, everyone #NHS we have spoken to has dismissed #Gastroparesis out of hand despite the known link with #t1D. He is on a pump, I'm not sure what his #hba1c is but control is reasonably ok-ish I think.

Got my blood test result back… was going to celebrate with chocolate and then thought better of it as it’s my HbA1c figure 😉

I wonder why we never measure #HbA1c in mouse models of #obesity #diabetes or #insulinresistance

A quick google reveals that the tools are there (ELISA kits) and it seems to be a decent readout of longitudinal blood glucose levels. Obviously Hba1c would bypass the fluctuations we see in POC blood glucose testing associated with the stress of handling, cutting tail, etc.

In any case this study brought 1,4-hihydroxy-naphthoic acid ( #DHNA ) to my attention.

Diabetic or not, lowering glycation (#HbA1c) seems a good thing. Interesting effects reported on serum Ca & Mg, also. #Osteocalcin is linked to brain health as well as bone health.

I'm doing my own n=1 trial of Jarlsberg #cheese - only ~20g/day, tho. (57g/day in study)

1. High fat (triglyceride) ‐ this indicates excess carb consumption that is being converted to fat
2. High fasting sugar ‐ this indicates diabetes not in control (buckle up)
3. Low HDL (good) cholesterol - this indicates poor physical activity (do something)
