This week I'll be re-living my work trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from last week.
Last Monday, I flew MEL-SYD-SGN. There's a direct flight from Melbourne but I went via Sydney to catch up with my new boss and take the flight in together.
The Vietnam Airlines flight was pretty nice - flying during the day is obviously way more comfortable than overnight flights.
HCMC's immigration queues, however, are BRUTAL nowadays. Not sure if it's their poor technical systems, a lack of staff, or just unfortunate timing with a bunch of flights arriving at once. Felt really fortunate that I was flown up in business class so we could bypass the queues; it looked like a solid 45-60 minutes of waiting.
All in all it was a 16 hour transit door-to-door, but I held up pretty well. Feeling the warm blanket of hot, humid air gave me an extra boost of energy when we walked off the plane.
