Republicans hold an advantage in #HD58, which is comprised of a large swaths of southern Roswell and Chaves County, but one that is less dominating then in others districts.
Per the New Mexico Secretary of State's Officr, as of March 31, #HD58 has 14,026 registered voters. Of those 40% are registered Republicans, 33% Democrats, 1% Libertarian and 26% "other" meaning they are either registered with another minor party or no party. #nmpol
Former New Mexico House Republican Caucus Chair Candy Ezzell of #HD58 says she will not run for that leadership position again.
As Caucus Chair, Ezzell was the third highest ranking Republican in the House until a majority voted to put Rebecca Dow in that post.
"I'm not going to do that," Ezzell said about another bid for caucus chair.
Instead, she backs #HD49 state Rep. Gail Armstrong of Magdalena for the role.
