I’ve *finally* tracked down one of my absolute favourites: #LianneLaHavas. I’ve been hunting for this since day one of my turntable and it sounds just as good as I’d imagined. Her cover of Weird Fishes is better than Radiohead’s original IMHO. And her little interlude audio popcorn track “Out of Your Mind” puts goosebumps down my neck *every time*. In fact I would normally listen to an album from start to finish but I just HAD to skip straight to it upon first listen. #vinyl #hdt_t_vinyl

I had to return The Hours. The soundtrack is glorious. But it was sadly a bad release/pressing. Partway into sides C & D there was distortion which *completely* fucks the mood. It was not quite nails on a chalkboard, more like Ally McBeal record scratching (continuous) completely destroying the moment. Very disappointing as I’d been very excited about that purchase. #vinyl #hdt_t_vinyl

This whole album (The Wall) is a *visceral* journey. Come to think of it, it's been far too long since I last watched the film. At one point I feel like I'm genuinely standing beneath a hovering helicopter, spotlight blaring in my face.

Anyone who’s followed me for long enough on social media will know I regularly post appreciation for the talents of Lianne La Havas. They didn’t have her self-titled album in stock (MASTERPIECE of an album) so I had to settle for an album that’s just very, very, very good. An acceptable compromise. I love the bouncing bass on Green & Gold, in fact it’s the first track of hers I ever discovered. #vinyl #hdt_t_vinyl

Next purchase is another one that’s on my “perfect albums” list: Blue - Joni Mitchell. A) it’s an exquisite work of art and B) a lot of the reason I’ve been drawn toward vinyl is to support artists’ work directly. I have a decent hifi with a DAC for listening to music from streaming services. I'm intimately familiar with this soundtrack.

Yet... it feels like I've been listening on good headphones all my life. Listening now on vinyl, I just upgraded to sitting amongst the orchestra. Remarkable. ❤️#vinyl #hdt_t_vinyl

The moment the arpeggios drop in Metamorphosis 2/ “Escape!” in the film *literally* took my breath away. Utterly devastating, and the soundtrack plays an enormous part in the impact of that moment. #vinyl #hdt_t_vinyl
