What is the simplest, most efficient, with interchangeable parts, way to make a #bicycle?

Do fixies simplify things a lot?

I know there are bamboo bicycles, can other wood be used?

I've learned that in desperation, a cut up garden hose can be used instead of tubes on a rim.

A rope with knots can make a type of chain.

I'm thinking the simplest materials without having to know how to weld.

Uncle decided for his 90th birthday he wanted to do a bike pub crawl. And he did with children and grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Kept waking up Spouse with my expelling heat from yesterday's bicycling for transportation in the 40.5 C. So she made me get and take a cold shower. I didn't feel any different, but she was able to sleep.
