In helping one of our app teams troubleshoot some outages they’ve been having with one of their main websites, I accidentally uncovered what one of our Security analysts confirmed may be evidence of an external actor making sweeps and bad requests against various edge systems for the last few months. It was a missing piece of the puzzle! :O More to validate, but it’s wild what you find sometimes just trolling through syslog data and event logs. 😂

The total amount of time I spend explaining how HTTP and TLS work (and that no, they aren’t the same thing) is… well, it’s a lot! I’ve come convinced that TLS is the new DNS.
