Thanks to the State of Social team for the gift of a set of reusuable ear plugs, a long overdue addition.
Years of hearing damage through loud PA systems and abnoxious car stereos in my youth (yes I was one of those whose stereo was worth more than the car) have left me with constant tinnitus; although thankfully my brain tunes it out 99% of the time.
While I don't expose myself to loud environments as much as I used to, it's still a great thing to have just in case.
I like the look and reviews so far of the new Sony ANC earbuds; pricey bloody things though.

AI is no longer the mysterious technological unknown that it once was, in fact it is now arguably woven into the fabric of our daily lives. The use of AI in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) is an area that I am passionate about. For instance when considering that there are half a billion people globally with disabling hearing loss or hearing issues, the use of AI in this area is of vital importance. - J. the number of times I’ve tried to find a good hearing aid picture for a talk… and they’re all bulky, beige, or straight-up inaccurate 🤦🏻♀️

Friendly hearing health reminder. Airplane engines are loud. According to OSHA guidelines, a worker should only be subjected to this level of noise for 4-5 hours WITH hearing protection.
Invest in some good noise cancelling headphones and don't turn the volume too high. Your ears will thank you 👂👍
