I think our religion with its ancestor veneration motivates us to adopt and apropiate their crafts and skills. Simply to honor them but also to do cool stuff with it.

Asking for assessment by #Heathens/ #Polytheists.:

Myths are really weird. Especially if your religiosity is based on it. Like... myths are not divine truth but rather stories by the people to better understand and comprehend the nature of the Gods, which is impossible to do without. They can be varying location-wise and the surviving texts/ myths/ stories we have are only a glimpse of the once rich mythologies and variants of them.

Significant uptick in excessively visible #Norse pagans #heathens #odinists in my tiny town…like, four of them out of nowhere suddenly seems like a lot when there is only a couple thousand people here. I wonder if an entire family of them moved in or something. Certainly this type of person is not racist/ws by default but 2 of them have some related tells that have me eyeballing the hell out of all of them at the grocery. Curious.

She's an important symbol of fertility, sustenance, and the land, and and as large herbivores her children, the aurochs, were an important part of ancient ecosystems.
