What I believe is a simple and nice concept to live in:

- ~5 story building
- proper insulation
- rectangular ground plot
- proper roof with #solar and large roof overhang to have additional rain protection
- district #heating with #heatPumps
- "outside" bicycle parking (not downstairs in some cellar...)
- "external/detached balconies"
- ground floor with a proper #garden

Some of you may remember that we had our gas supply removed in April. That action set a deadline: we had to find another heating solution before the coming winter.
We now have that solution:
Our home is all-electric, generates more solar power than we consume, and we will use air conditioning as heating this winter.
Heat pumps are too large. We needed something that was less powerful and which would consume less power.
It was quite a DIY job.

Maine previously pledged to install 100,000 heat pumps by 2025. Given they reached the goal two years early, they've pledged to install an additional 175,000 by 2027. The investment both in infrastructure and the engineers needed to install them will enrich the entire state.
