In 2000 neemt hij een nummer op met Tony en Ozzy, voor Iommi zijn solo album.
In 2006 komt er weer een reünie met #RonnieJamesDio en een tour met het album #HeavenAndHell, maar weer lukt het Bill niet en neemt Vinny Appice van #Dio het over.
In 2011 nemen Bill, Ozzy, Tony en Geezer een nieuw album op met #RickRubin, maar net voor de release en tournee geeft Bill weer verstek, en #BradWilk neemt zijn taken over.
In 2017 komt er nog een kans voor Bill, maar #TommyClufetos vervangt hem de dag zelf.

zal een grote invloed hebben op hem, met een climax eind jaren 70, waarin hij last krijgt van paniekaanvallen en zelfs niet meer weet of hij het album #HeavenAndHell had opgenomen.
Op 21 augustus 1980 verdwijnt hij van de radar, zonder afscheid te nemen van de band en enkel #RonnieJamesDio de nieuwe zanger heeft nog contact met hem en meldt dat hij vervangen is door #VinnyAppice.
Bill speelt dan even bij de band #MaxHavoc van #TonyRichads, waar drugs nog meer floreert.
In 1983 keert hij al

In 1979 zetten ze Ozzy uit de band, en stopt Butler ook even.
Het nieuwe album wordt opgenomen met #CraigGruber van #Rainbow, maar Butler keert terug en speelt alle basspartijen terug in net voor de release.
Dan volgt een ellenlange lijst van split en reünie, en Butler begint ook meer te werken als bassist bij maatje Ozzy.
Sinds 1997 en de #ozzfest zit hij terug constant in de band Black Sabbath, in 2006 wel onder de naam #HeavenAndHell met Dio als zanger.
In 2012 komt de originele line-up terug

This is Black Sab--- I mean, "Heaven and Hell". I saw them during this tour (2008, Sunrise, FL) so watching this video brings back great memories for me.

Wthile the DVD came pretty much barebones, the CD did include a booklet so here are some pictures of it.

Ronnie James Dio's final studio recording "The Devil You Know". I got to see them live the year prior with some good friends. It was a great show (Queensrÿche and Alice Cooper were the supporting acts).
