"Surrender" is a single by Cheap Trick released in June 1978 from the album #HeavenTonight. It was the first Cheap Trick single to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 62. Its success in Japan, as well as the success of its preceding singles "#ClockStrikesTen" and "#IWantYouToWantMe", paved the way for Cheap Trick's concerts at #NipponBudokan in Tokyo in April 1978 which were recorded for #CheapTrickAtBudokan, the group's most popular album.

Great Albums, 1970s, No. 30: #CheapTrick – #HeavenTonight (1978). Rockford’s finest were a perfect amalgam of styles and images kicking around the late-70 rock scene—and this third LP is where it all came together. “Surrender,” “On Top of the World,” “High Roller,” and “Still Competition” all dwell on the heavier side of power pop, balanced by a glossy Move cover, “California Man,” and the Beatles-meets-Zeppelin crawl of “Heaven Tonight.”
