When I was a kid, I was taught classical violin at 7 but hated it - it put me off learning music till I was 12. I've known my entire life that all I wanted to do was be a musician and I'm lucky enough to do it as a job now.

Even now, the implicit white supremacy of so much of the classical music world annoys the fuck out of me.
