It's not difficult to get fruits of many varieties here in southern #Spain, and this #Apple, known as "manzana reineta del Bierzo," is one example. The odd color and lack of gloss ensures that it wouldn't sell well in a modern supermarket, but it's that very quality that draws my attention.

Apparently it's a variety grown in the northern Bierzo region. The owner of the store told me that it's especially sour, and so I bought five of them for crunching later!
