Interesting turn of events in #Helck episode 4. The show is still trying to balance the comedy with the serious, and doing a respectable job of it.

予想外の展開だ。
Cパートのアズドラとホンとヴァミリオのコント?笑った。

#Helck does look like it’s trying to thread the needle of transitioning from a gag comedy to an actual story.

#Helck seems to be doing a reasonable job of it in the second episode, enough so to keep me watching for a while yet.

馬?にまたがって走った後、抱えて爆走するヘルク最高過ぎる!
しかもゴールの場面で馬?を抱えた分の差で勝つの笑う。
ヴァミリオのツッコミ良いね。
ファンタジーギャグとして見ていいんだな!
春アニメのマッシュル好きだった人は楽しめると思う!

ヴァミリオとホンの漫才みたいなやり取りが面白くてイイな。
ギャグ作品で良いのか?
ヘルクと弟のあたりはシリアスっぽい気もするけど。
EDがsajiじゃないか!
でもまた歌モノか。
もうロックバンドはやめたのか?
残念だ。

This #anime season seems to be not as strong as previous one; I did not know if there would be anything I would like, but at least three shows did positively surprise me:

- #MyHappyMarriage — an interesting and beautiful shoujo with supernatural elements.
- #Helck — a fantasy comedy with some intrigue and unexpected wholesomeness.
- #UndeadGirlMurderFarce — a supernatural alternate history detective, nicely animated and with subtle humor.

* Given those abs I question the extent to which #Helck is entirely human.

** Vermilio’s temper is explosive in a way that keeps architects and stone masons in business. Oh well, I’m sure that they didn’t need that castle. Much. And yes it’s played for about as many laughs as you’d expect… successfully too.

Well, in the case of #Helck, the demons hold a tournament to select the next demon lord.

A tournament that Helck the Human* Hero somehow enters and is powering his way through.

Much to the consternation of the cute demon midboss who has a bit of an explosive temper**

OK, so what is #Helck about? Well, it’s one of what I’m starting to call a “What’s NEXT?” kind of a show.

The hero defeats the demon lord! HUZZAH! There was much rejoicing!

What’s NEXT?

Well #Helck looks to be hilarious, although there’s signs that the show will transition from the early gags into a more serious storyline.

Which is good, because I’m not sure there’s an entire series on the initial premise.

The one anime this season I'm actually gonna watch ended up being #Helck. It feels like *something* disguised as a gag anime but it hasn't revealed what exactly that something is yet. The main characters seem great so far.
