My yard is way behind my neighbors. I believe this is one of the native species. Note the buds farther down the stem and the yellow pollen on the top leaf.

So langsam nimmt die #Helianthus "Sunbelievable" Fahrt auf.
Sie hat ein bisschen damit zu kämpfen das sie mit dem an Wasser auskommen muss,was an Niederschlag herunter kommt.
Aber Sonnenblumen sind da meist zäh und wenn sich genug Wurzelwerk gebildet hat,geht es los mit der Blüte

Time to Stop

Let's see: made a soup I'm not sure I like. I my attempt to repair the under counter lazy Susan (the top shelf had started to drift) I think I might have broken it. (I can't get the center pole completely stable, in case anyone has the solution to that.)

There are signals of #introgression throughout the genus #Helianthus (#Sunflowers). The member species are largely reproductively isolated but are nevertheless connected through through occasional or frequent gene flow.
