Ok so you may be familiar with Pleasant Hill Rd, which runs roughly parallel to 680 between 24 and 4. There’s a spot that looks like it’s gonna become a sinkhole and I’m morbidly curious about what that would take. More rain? Traffic sitting on top? A lil shakey-wakey of a quake? Lots of people have been without power for most of today here. My dad called to tell me his power was out too. I asked him if he needed anything.

He said, “My phone died, but I fixed it.”

“Umm, you fixed it?”

“Yup, I pulled a car battery & hooked it up to charge my phone.”

That’s my dad for ya. Power’s out. He’s an electrical engineer’s electrical engineer. Man doesn’t need no stinkin backup power. He goes gonzo with a spare car battery he has just lying around the house.
