Just going to point out for the recent influx of #Twitter users and people from Twitter who haven't gotten the memo...

When you are talking about Twitter on here, you should call it Twitter. Don't just call it #BirdSite, #HellSite, #X, or any other euphemism, actually use the word "Twitter" Hashtag in your post.

That way, people who have posts about it blocked don't see it your post, and people who actually want to talk about Twitter will see it. The entire point of creating this #SocialNetwork was to get away from the drama of other #SocialNetworks. Those of us who want to talk about it are usually people with some background that makes it interesting to us, like people who've worked on internet stuff. There's no rule or algorithm that's going to slap you for openly talking about Twitter, but there are people who just don't want to hear about it right now.

Just call it what it is and give it the hashtag. Only exception should be mentioning that you got something from birdsite.

Scrolling through #VolodymyrZelenskyy / #Zelenskyy 's #Twitter timeline, however, one would think there was zero support and the #Biden admin was giving them old military equipment against the will of his own people.

This is an example of "#BlueCheck #Fascism", where a politically polarizing figure has asked his followers to give him money in exchange for reach, and the people who are willing to give him money are the worst people on the site, whose horrible takes would otherwise be ignored as uninformed, deplorable, or insane. Bolstered to the top of the comments, they make Putinist propaganda look like normal viewpoints.

This is why Twitter is a #Hellsite, this is why Corporate #SocialMedia doesn't work, this is why #Mastodon exists, and why #Fediverse MUST supplant its alternatives for the good of humanity.

There's a story in the #Bible about how kings were universally evil, yet Israelites (enjoying a relatively non -authorization, ad hoc rule by judges) wanted to be like other nations and be ruled by one. "We want a king," they said. They got one... And the king was evil.

This reminds me of left-of-center #Twitter migrants lusting after Jack Dorsey's #BlueSky. They have seen life under an evil ruler on The #Hellsite, yet they want an evil ruler again. The same one as before.

There are things I definitely don't miss from the #HellSite, especially the tired old memes and GIFs that got used over and over and over again. It was obvious that no one ever read an entire thread because they would post the same damn meme that everyone else had already posted. Remember the woman in the green shirt doing the spit-take? Yeah, I'd see that one 100s of times a day. And people were, like, I'm SO original! Ugh.
