Which turns out, with DNA work done, to be an Irish Lynch family whose surname morphed to Lindsey when our immigrant ancestor, an indentured servant, came from Ireland to Virginia in 1718….

And now I find that my "Snead" family, on which I've worked for years — to get past a brick wall I could never get past, which tells you something right there — isn't genetically a Snead family at all, but an Edgeworth family.

Did anyone watch the recent #FindingYourRoots with #HenryLouisGates and the Julia Roberts reveal? Telling her that her great-grandfather was an #NPE was heartbreaking to me. She tried so hard to be normal about it and to give the politically correct answers for TV, but I KNOW she was absolutely shaken. I could see it on her face because I felt the same way when I had my own discovery about my Dad. The Discovery of secrets is so long-lasting thru generations.
