Purpure an inescutcheon tierced per fesse Sable, Cendrée and Argent.

I was very taken with the inversion of tones between the ace and aro flags, so I echoed it in these shields.

A bear #PrideShield

Pean, in first quarter a bear paw Tenné armed Argent.

Pean here is a fur, a variant of Ermine, so most of this shield is covered in black fur. The tincture for the paw, Tenné, is one of those known as a stain, but, as before with Murrey, I think we can use it as an honourable colour in this context.

It is a paw, rather than a print, since it allows the claws to be tinctured separately. They’re silver, a gleaming metal amongst the dark fur of the field.

As promised, a #NoCopsAtPride shield! A statement in heraldic language.

Azure a bar chequy Argent and Sable, gored sinister Tenné.

The principle blazon (blue with chequered stripe) is just to represent police, but the gore is a special and seldom seen thing.

Technically known as an abatement, it is used to signify cowardice and dishonour. It boldly declares "You are not welcome, dishonourable coward, be gone!"

A field per bend Fuchsia and Azure, a bend Or.

I struggled with this, which you wouldn’t think from the simplicity of the final design. My struggle colour. I tried using Gules, Rose, even Murray but nothing worked. Nothing seemed faithful to the community’s agreed symbolism. Which is why I have introduced a new tincture.

This and future designs will employ “Fuchsia” as a colour, despite being known to no heraldic authority. #heraldicpride

Quarterly Or, Purpure, Argent and Sable, countercharged gyronny.

Same underlying form as the enby shield, but with a twist (literally!) The nebuly lines have been dropped for clarity, but the ~flux is represented by the gyronny countercharge.

A #genderfluid #PrideShield

Barry-pily undy of five Rose, Argent, Purpure, Sable and Azure.

Colours per the genderfluid flag, flowing into each other. Barry-pily is a seldom seen division, as piles are usually vertical and bars are usually parallel; put the two together and you get interlocking triangles on their sides. The undy lines are much more common, being the quintessential heraldic representation of water and fluidity.

Quarterly nebuly Or, Purpure, Sable and Argent.

No ordinaries on this one, just tinctured division of the field. Quarterly; into quarters cross-wise. Nebuly; the contour, an heraldic symbol for clouds etc. My wrestle with gender has been nebulously #enby so I used it for this #heraldicpride design.

I am very open to feedback, on this and all my other designs. I’m interpreting established symbolism through heraldry and my experience , but I don’t want impose or offend.

For today's #heraldicpride design I have borrowed Cendrée, the colour of ashes, from the French tradition.

Intersectional Pride Shield

Per chevron reversed, the upper portion chevronny reversed of five Argent, Rose, Bleu celeste, Tenné and Sable. The lower portion party per chevron embowed of six Purpure, Azure, Vert, Or, Orange and Gules.

The first in a series of #PrideShields -- like #PrideFlags but heraldic instead of vexillological. Anyway! I'm drawing from multiple #heraldic traditions for these, but I'll do my best not to perpetrate bad heraldry in pursuit of #heraldicpride.
