The biggest difference I see is that switching workspaces doesn't cause screen artifacts anymore! That's good. Makes me feel like things are more sane than before 😁

690 followers · 6723 posts · Server social.tchncs.deBin inzwischen bei #Antix mit runit in der 32bit Variante gelandet. Der eeePC Läuft ganz passabel mit #herbstluftwm. Die HDD hatte ich schon vor längerem durch eine SSD ersetzt. Sogar der Akku geht noch.
Surfen mit Firefox ist natürlich eine Geduldsprobe.
Dillo und Netsurf als schlanke Browser scheinen schon länger nicht mehr gepflegt zu werden, schade ...
Aber ansonsten wäre das Teil noch für etliche Aufgaben gut.
Ich verstehe immer noch nicht, wieso die Netbooks aus der Mode kamen.

finally i made the step and replaced win10 on my old computer at home where i use to just play games. installing grub didn't work first but after reading the documentation and adding that weird 1M partition for bios install it went straight through, i just pulled in my dotfiles and made some adjustments, got me some wallpapers and here we are

It does everything I want and I find it very nice to be able to configure/control/extend it via scripting/CLI

the whole setup can be found in a single reproducible guix-home configuration, including the emacs.el https://git.sr.ht/~reproducible/.guix/tree/trunk/item/home-configuration.scm.
there might be some places where I quickly added hand-wrote file paths, so watch out I made it for me. but its definitely a nice and simple (if messy) reference. if you want to run it, try with "$ guix home container" first to preview it, that should also point you to any tweaks you'd need to make :)
