Unlike Loyalist Astartes Chapters, not all Heretic warbands have access to reliable supply lines or forge worlds/manufactorums, and rely on salvaging and makeshift equipment to keep their warriors supplied.

Death Guard Plague Marines

Some of the Plague Marines I ran in last years LGS crusade. I know that from a competitive standpoint DG peeps are all about the Poxwalkers, but I can't sing enough praises about how admirably my Plague Marines performed. <3

(It definitely helped this was before the recent reign of shooting heavy codices dropped)

Death Guard Foetid Bloat Drone "Bonesaw"

There's many factors in what army to bring when your LGS runs a 40k Crusade. A large draw of playing Death Guard last year was seeing how friends would respond when I dropped fleshmower drones on the table and fired them off like supersonic lawnmowers at people's infantry.

The responses were as fantastic as you'd expect. >:3c

Thousand Sons Aspiring Sorcerer

The Thousand Sons have always been my favorite Chaos Space Marine Legion, and I was absolutely giddy at the beautiful new Rubric kits we got in 7th edition.

Some day I really do hope to contain my faction ADHD long enough to paint a full force, as them and AdMech are hands down my two favorite factions in all of 40k.

This last Saturday was a painting day at the local Crusade meet. In between painting Warp Talons with their obnoxiously ornate Chaos armor trim, I decided to knock out a quick template piece for my Cultists. (Since I have so many and will need to start on them sooner than later!)

The "Ardent Vessels" Legionary squad of my Word Bearers warband: "The 13th Hour"

More Shadowspear work! Can't play wargames without boots on the ground to do the grunt work! These boys are meant to be a basic vanilla squad. I'm worried they'll be outclassed by the better Legionary kit (balefire and chainaxe), but they're at least solid and reliable, even if nothing fancy.

Venomcrawler "Skitterspite" of my Word Bearers warband: "The 13th Hour"

Working through the minis in my Shadowspear start collecting! This guy was really fun to paint, as the model is absolutely packed to the brim with flavor. If only he'd last to the end of a single crusade mission! Apparently folks are intimidated by giant, daemonic, soul flaying spider engines.

Mago Corvus, master of the "13th Hour" warband of Word Bearers.

The Master of Possession model has been one of my favorites across the entire 40k line since his release, and painting him was an absolute blast. With my Word Bearers being heavily focused on the daemonic nature of chaos, it seemed only fitting that he be the ringleader of my warband!
