This time in four weeks, all going to plan, I will have just armed the #HeritageTheatre having had our official Grand Opening Gala, and be about to lock the door.
We have what is probably best described as A Metric Fucktonne of things to complete between now & then.
Many of them are not my responsibility but somehow my problem.
A bunch are both my responsibility and my problem.
This will be a wee thread on the weeks ahead. & a bit of a warning for folks considering a #HeritageTheatreRefurb
#heritagetheatre #heritagetheatrerefurb
This will be my third venue that I’ve opened, although my first one of this scale.
My other two were a converted woolshed, which became a music venue. And a warehouse which we made into a theatre with two studio spaces.
I’ve also done a couple of #Speigletent builds, and smaller refurbs of dedicated venues. Usually just equipment for those ones tho.
This is my first #HeritageTheatre, which has been a pretty wild learning curve and has thrown a lot of spanners into the works.
As the #HeritageTheatre I’ve been working on for the last 15 months comes closer to actually being functionally open, I’m finally allowed to talk a bit more about the processes we’ve been through to refurb & kit it out.
I’m also finally allowed to take photos.
Which is a little silly, because most of the really interesting parts that aren’t well documented are done. But hey, I’m taking it as I’m also finally allowed to share some of the photos I’ve taken along the way.
Hope you like it!
