Amy people warn against the works of #Herodotus, they claim “The Histories” is filled with mistakes and in some cases outright fabrications. They say that rather than being the father of #history he is the father of lies.

I for one encourage everyone to read his book, he is, for me, one of the fathers of #storytelling. His book is equal parts travel guide, historical anecdotes and beautiful storytelling.

I model my own work in his — never trust a storyteller, know that everything we say is true and everything is false. Lean into it; read, enjoy and let the #storyteller paint the world around you in the colours they see. Let their truth by yours in that moment.

Shhh… don’t question, just listen…
