In Oct '20 my wife, daughter, and I threw our most important belongings into a Transit van and headed South, across locked-down EU all the way across the sea to the island of Tenerife.

It was an unplanned escape not only from a viral pandemic but a guaranteed mental health crisis.

The last 2 years have left us uprooted, alienated, lonely, but also empowered, mindblown and deeply transformed.

Today we booked return tickets. I feel both relieved and terrified. A new chapter.
