In winter there's an advisory to be careful because it gets too cold for green iguanas and they fall out of trees and off power lines and hit people in the head! #herpetology

A bit of #herping down by the Cape Fear River this morning. Spotted a juvenile American #Alligator (A. mississippiensis - 5ft or less) just after daybreak, then a beauty adult Common 5-Lined #Skink (P. fasciatus - almost 6 inches) as the sun cleared the trees.
