35 followers · 183 posts · Server hachyderm.ioFrom felt experience, it seems to me that the situation where you would over engineer some abstraction "just in case" you switch underlying technology happens more frequently nowadays.
I think it's the fact that we abstracted a lot of things behind cloud APIs (that are similar enough to each other) and now a simple business financial decision can be: "Oh, amazon S3 is 2 cents more expensive than DO S3 spaces, let's switch it."
