This is the results from 10 watts out of x6100 with the hex beam pointed east. Looks like I was rx'ed on 6 continents, I made contact with EU, AS, NA and SA looks like a pretty successful test. SWR was great on all the bands with no tuner #HexBeam #FT8 #PortableOps

Giving the #hexbeam buddihex a workout before field day. Got out there in the back yard portable to give the station a once over and make sure the hardware and software are doing there thing. All looks well first few contacts were EU on 10 watts out of the X6100.

So we'll see if I can actually participate meaningfully in this evening's gathering on that band.

49 followers · 168 posts · Server mastodon.radioAfter some experimental review at 30ish watts, the 10 meter element on the #hexbeam needs some inspection, but the other bands seem to behave. On the #trapped #multiband #fan #dipole, however, receive is fine but my #transmatch just can’t cope on transmit. I hope that’s a #feedline problem and not an #antenna problem. Either way, I must ascend to the roof to see what’s what. Perhaps two weekends from now; next weekend is booked for #portable #operating already 😁
