Out today in Nature Methods: our manuscript outlining improvements we've made to Genome Architecture Mapping (GAM) and comparisons between GAM and Hi-C.TLDR: We made GAM much cheaper, show that it performs better than Hi-C at detecting complex interactions and identify a class of CTCF-enhancer interactions that are poorly detected by Hi-C. A revised, high quality, leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) reference genome produced using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C. Get this, 1/2 the chromosomes were assembled as contigs!!! 😮
