The long and short of it is he found what we think is the first new gene associated with risk for hidradenitis suppurativa since the familial association with gamma-secretase genes was found > 10 years ago. And perhaps the first association with any form of HS, not just familial HS.

I'm 79 kgs, that's 174 in American pounds. I want to remain this weight and swap fat for muscle.

I already have a low body fat figure, but the challenge is to get below 10%. There's a reason: #hidradenitis flares FAR FAR less the lowest that figure gets.

I've done this before from 25 to 15%. Body recomp was the easiest method for me instead of cycling bulking up with cutting. The trick is 120 grams of protein per day, zero fat and as little carbs as possible to remain the same weight.

Feb --> I go into a waiting list to get the armpit surgery. It was legally required to be no more than 6 months. I budgeted for 6 months.

August --> I run out of funds. I start the GoFundme to get me through the wait & back in London. Landlady (my aunt) decides to let me stay until surgery.

10th of October ---> I'm finally scheduled to get the surgery.

21st of October --> Surgery done. Amrpits good as new. #hidradenitis therefore back in remission.

10th December --> Back to London.

You know what, I feel it is safe enough to come out in this platform. My profile isn't indexable by google and I feel this is a safe enough space to talk about it, let enough I feel, as Lana Wachowsky said, that the loss of 'some' of my private life might have value by exposing this. So here it comes.

Most of the 296 followers I've got on this space know I have something called #hidradenitis. It is an autoimmune disease caused by, in a nutshell, an overreactive TNF-a immune protein.

Advice 1 is the one that's the most important, I put myself in remission thanks to that.

But it should be completed with "try the auto-immune protocol diet" as that was the easiest and fastest way I found the ingredients that caused the flares. #hidradenitis #aip

And we're talking big words here, this wasn't a normal fast, but a DRY (neither water or liquids) fast. The only one that serves my purpose. The fistula has been re-absorbed thanks to this, and is now 25% of what it was. It's called autophagy and it has worked for my HS each and every time when done very carefully under very strict circumstances.
