In 1952, Lan married a #Muralist & #Gardener #Primrose Harley (born on #PrimroseDay). She was his helpmate.
Known as the Father of Borders, Lanning loved #Romantic #Gardens w/ lavender & roses, spilling onto paths. His cancer sadly stopped him from working at Charles & Di's new place: #Highgrove.

Dropped Twitter years ago; as everyone was wanting to speak and no-one was really interested in listening. As well as exploring here today, started uncovering some old carving blocks #Highgrove cedar and a 15 year-cut cherry trunk in progress, in which 5 #stagbeetle larvae have been rehomed to the logpile base, having hatched in the rotten section at the base of this block. Nice to be carving wood #sculpture again.
