One of the triumphs of the #starwars prequels is to make the Jedi seem somewhat cool (I remember being a young teenager when I watched Episode 1 for the first time and Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon both being badasses), if ultimately misguided. This contrasts wildly with the current slate of #HighRepublic novels wherein the Jedi are portrayed as basically inept cops, full of hubris and their own importance and so shortsighted. It's a strange choice because none of the other characters are particularly interesting either. I guess for me the High Republic books are just not that good?

Ok, I’m giving a second chance to Star Wars High Republic. I remember I was so pissed with Light of the Jedi writing that I abandoned it and moved to the old but gold The New Jedi Order. Nonetheless I must say I read a few of the first High Republic comics and they’re pretty great (better than the first book). #starwars #highrepublic #starwarshighrepublic

Finished listening to Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule on #Audible yesterday, which was my first taste of the #StarWars #HighRepublic novels.

I think the best review I can give is that I was reading to read/listen to more as soon as I finished it, though I wasn't sure at the start as it throws you straight into a massive event which is just a lot to take in.

I remember when #Disney announced the #HighRepublic era of #StarWars content and I was really excited because it was described as “long before” the #skywalker era. And I laughed when I found out “long before” meant like 150 years because Yoda was STILL OLD at that time. He probably had concert t-shirts that old in his space frog drawer. 150 years is nothing!

Après tout le monde, je viens de finir La Lumière des Jedis #HighRepublic #StarWars.
Eh bah c'est franchement très bien ! J'ai eu un peu de mal avec le découpage des chapitres, qui a tendance a vraiment tenter de suivre 3-4 intrigues différentes et à tourner assez vite.
L'histoire est plutôt bien, les actions sont cools et j'ai envie de lire la suite !
Et les musiques de Grushkov rendent l'expérience vraiment top ❤️

Star Wars: Path of Deceit was really good. It works really well as a prequel to the previous High Republic books while also fleshing out the mythos of that time period. Technically a YA novel but a very good read for adults as well. #starwars #highrepublic

Definitely had a bit of a geek-out moment when I picked up my copy of High Republic Adventure 1 today and Daniel Jose Older just happened to be there picking up his comics. Phase II is off to a great start and I was really excited to meet one of the authors making it happen. This is some of my favorite #starwars reading in a long time. #highrepublic

My favorite part of the #HighRepublic continues to be how EXPANSIVE and NEW (yet familiar) this era feels. There are always exciting places to discover just around the bend, filled with characters we never met before but instantly love.

Me listening on as the novel suddenly accelerates near the end into plot and action where intensely traumatic things happen to both of them: "Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck."
