Sigh, about to watch last episode of #HighScoreGirl. I don't want this to be over.
I'll go hit the arcades after this. Well, the DDR/PIU dance pads.
Episode 9 of #HighScoreGirl (I guess the official English spelling is #HiScoreGirl, but I don't like that as much) made me tear up again. It's so cute!
However, I'm kind of annoyed a little at the apparent wish-fulfillment (Mary Sue?) of this story. Two girls fawning over a complete loser guy just because he's really good at videogames? I mean, c'mon.
Have a Hark A Vagrant comic to explain:

(CW: sexualised but ridiculous doodles of female characters)
"There was Hyper Fighting, New Challengers, and Champion Edition. Can't they just call it three?"
"We don't talk about that Miyao."
#HighScoreGirl making me literally lol out loud over #StreetFighter
Awwwwwww, episode 3 of #HighScoreGirl made me tear up. This is such a cute show. I really feel that nonverbal girl.
I'm finding a few off things about the English dub, though. They keep calling M. Bison Vega. I know about the name switcheroo, but it still feels odd Also, I keep getting confused about how they kept the Japanese habit for even kids to address each other by their surnames. Both of these things I would have changed for English.
Awwwww, I just watched the second episode of #HighScoreGirl. That was so cute! Also, I am enjoying the English dub a lot better than the Japanese original.
I am relating a lot to Akira Ono. I like how she's nonverbal and just communicates with facial expression, grunts and violence.
Last night at the arcade bar they were screening #HighScoreGirl. I didn't know what it was, and I was taking quick peeks at it during short breaks of my gaming. I thought it was pretty unique to see Japanese animation interspersed with lots of actual footage from 1990s arcades.
After some searching online, I found it and just watched the first episode. It's pretty good! Pretty goofy and childish, but I enjoyed it. It explains several videogame techniques and reminds me of my childhood.
