I have strict instructions from K not to do a Julian Sands. I realised today Mt Whitney is 4000 feet higher than I thought which makes zero difference but I'm oddly delighted about.
Sorry about the photos for the next couple of weeks, I don't be able to stop myself.
Hoping for #bears obviously.

Getting to Bearpaw camp is a good feeling on #HST. First big views of the Great Western Divide and Kaweah Canyon, and nice pit stop. The seasonal camp lodge hasn’t been active since before Covid. I wonder if it’ll open this year.

Above the Valhalla area of #SequiaNP on the #GreatWesternDivide #MtStewart is a fun #OffTrail #Scramble from #KaweahGap with great views down toward #KennedyLake and the #KaweahGorge Exit the #HighSierraTrail around mile 22 after you crest the gap and make your way up the north boulder slope.

Precipice Lake is a foreboding and magical place. If you sit still you can listen to rockfall echoing across the lake all day long. Don’t mistake the lack of scale, just the lower vertical cliffs touching the water are hundreds of feet tall.
