I save/collect broken #tree #twigs & #branches & logs & #deadwood in old garbage bins. I use them for #Hügelkultur purposes. #German word meaning #MoundCulture or #HillCulture . This is a practice that has existed both in German & #EasternEurope societies for hundreds of years. The concept was further developed by #SeppHolzer - an expert in permaculture, in his book Sepp Holzer’s Permaculture: A Practical Guide to Small-Scale, Integrative Farming, and Gardening.

#Hügelkultur (pronounced hoogleculture) is #German for #HillCulture . You grow crops on raised, earthen mound that consists of a foundation of logs/branches covered in layers of manure, compost & soil.
